Your child is probably already using AI for school. Most parents are not sure where the line is.

In a 2026 UK poll, 57% of parents said they think their children use AI for homework, up from 47% ten months earlier (Parent Voice Project). In a US survey, 63% of teens who use AI for schoolwork said they get an answer from it (Common Sense Media).

Used as an answer machine, AI can hand your child a finished piece of work without teaching them anything. Used as a tutor, it can help them understand. The difference is in how it is set up and what the family agrees.

In 60 minutes, you will:

Step 1

Start the conversation

Opening lines for talking to your child about AI, even if they expect to be told off.

Step 2

Set your House Brain Rules

Agree simple rules with your child about when AI helps their learning and when it gets in the way, and fill in a one-page family agreement.

Step 3

Set up a tutor-mode AI

Watch the same homework question answered in answer mode and in tutor mode, then build your own tutor-mode setup for your child, live.

Step 4

Know which uses help and which hurt

Revising, essay feedback and getting stuck on maths are different from asking for the finished answer.

Step 5

Run five Brain Checks

Quick weekly checks, including "explain it back to me", that show whether your child is learning or just copying.

Samuel Holston

I'm Samuel, a London-based founder who builds AI learning tools for schools. I have a master's in cognitive systems and about seven years of experience facilitating learning programmes with young people. I'm running this session because most parents are working out AI at home with little guidance, and learning science gives us a clear way to do it well.

Built for busy parents, not tech experts

This session is for parents of 11 to 16 year olds who want a clear, calm way to help their child use AI to learn. You do not need any technical skills. Most chatbots set a minimum age of 13, so you will run the tools yourself, with your child alongside if they are under 13. We use invented examples only, so you never need to enter your child's name, school or personal details.

This is not a technical course, and it does not promise grades. It gives you a practical system and the reasons behind it.

Common questions

Do I need to be technical?

No. If you can use email, you can do everything in the session.

What age is it for?

Parents of 11 to 16 year olds. For under 13s, you operate the tools yourself with your child alongside.

Which AI tools will you use?

One mainstream chatbot, live. The templates are written to work in the main chatbots, so you can use whichever your family already has.

Can I come if I cannot attend live?

Yes. Every ticket includes a 48-hour replay. The build-along and live Q&A work best live.

What if it is not useful?

Email me within 24 hours of the session for a full refund, no questions asked.

Will you ask for my child's details?

No. Do not enter personal information about your child at any point.

What happens to my email address?

It is used for your ticket, reminders and the Playbook. You only get marketing emails if you tick the box, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
